ABSTRACT:
Globalization has fundamentally reshaped the landscape of public health, blurring geographical boundaries and facilitating the rapid exchange of information, technology, and people. At the heart of this transformation lies Primary Health Care (PHC), the essential frontline of any resilient health system. This research paper examines the dualistic impact of globalization on PHC delivery. While globalization has accelerated the diffusion of medical innovations and global health standards, it has also exacerbated health inequities, facilitated the spread of infectious diseases, and strained local health infrastructures through "brain drain" and the commercialization of care. Through a qualitative analysis of existing literature and policy frameworks, this study explores how PHC can be revitalized to meet the demands of a globalized society. The findings suggest that a shift toward decentralized, community-driven care, supported by digital health integration and international policy alignment, is crucial. The paper concludes that for PHC to remain effective, it must transcend traditional local boundaries and adopt a "global-to-local" (glocal) strategy that prioritizes equity and universal health coverage.
